HudUnLtd is open to staff, students and recent graduates. Funding can be applied for to start up your own social enterprise. A social enterprise is led by people who create positive change within their communities. It can be anything that you believe is going to make a difference to other people, such as coaching, art, music, education, an environmental initiative or a support network for disadvantaged communities in the UK.

Suppautism is an online system to monitor the development of pupils with Autism and Aspergers’ Syndrome in secondary education. Graduating with a 2:1 in Multimedia Technology, Matt worked on Suppautism for a University Project which involved Swinton Community School, transferring their current system into an online product. After finishing University and with the backing of tutors, Suppautism was launched. Initially in November 2012, Matt was awarded a £500 grant from the University to try out his idea which lead to the launch of Suppautism and an application for a HudUnLtd award. Suppautism is now trialling in three different schools in South Yorkshire.
The HudUnLtd award will allow Suppautism to attend key exhibitions to promote the product and continue to further extend the system. Whilst developing the product, the National Autistic Society has shown an interest and Matt is looking forward to working with them in the future. Only around 15% of adults who have autism are in sustained employment, however with the help of Suppautism and other schemes running throughout the country, this number will hopefully increase and make employers more aware of autism.
Matt Winning said, “Following the difficulties I faced at school, I am privileged to be in a position where I can help other pupils with autism. This award will allow us to attend exhibitions, including the NASEN Live Event and The Autism Show, to help promote Suppautism. I feel overwhelmed to have been selected for this award and would like to thank all those involved.”
Matt has Aspergers’ Syndrome, a form of Autism which caused difficulties in mainstream education in secondary school which has fuelled his ambition to assist other pupils who have autism with their school experience. Whilst in year 10 and 11, Matt was educated at home. He then attended sixth form college and went on to study at University Campus Barnsley from 2009. Matt now hopes to continue developing Suppautism and other online systems to aid with the development of those with autism.
