Dixons Retail Logistics Director shares his ‘knowhow’

Logistics staff and students were delighted to welcome Tim Allinson, Logistics Director of Dixons Retail to the University.

Tim gave an excellent lecture on the contribution of logistics to the business strategy of his company, describing how the network has developed as e-retail takes an increased market share.  He also shared his thoughts on successful leadership.

The lecture commenced with an ice breaker quiz, with the winning student walking away with an HP tablet as a prize!

Dixons Retail Logistics Director, Tim Allinson Dixons Retail are one of 23 companies sponsoring the NOVUS Trust Supply Chain Undergraduate Scheme – a unique programme that guarantees graduate employment to students on successful completion of a BSc (Hons) in Logistics & Supply Chain Management at the University of Huddersfield.  Students are also guaranteed work experience, a 12 month placement and benefit from an industry mentor throughout their studies.   Tim Allinson is acting as mentor to first year student Alex Heard.
