Delegates from industry had the opportunity to attend a free metrology workshop hosted by the University of Huddersfield’s EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Advanced Metrology and Alicona, a global supplier of optical 3D surface measurement solutions.
The morning session was dedicated to presentations from experts including Professor Liam Blunt, research leader for the EPSRC Centre and expert in surface measurement, who talked about developments in optical surface metrology and standards for product design and manufacturing.
The afternoon provided an opportunity for delegates to try out the Alicona 3D measurement machines and see the new EPSRC Centre laboratory based in the University’s 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, a European Regional Development funded business and innovation centre.
