Marie Curie Fellowships

Tue, 30 Apr 2013 11:33:00 BST

The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Advanced Metrology is looking to attract innovative researchers to work on a number of specific projects via the EU Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships (IEF) or International Incoming Fellowships (IIF) Programmes.

The projects are in the fields of precision engineering and surface metrology and include skin topography, automation in manufacturing systems and modelling measurement uncertainty. For full descriptions of the projects visit the job adverts on the EURAXESS website (see below).

If you are interested in any of the projects please contact Mr Derek McKenzie, European Funding Advisor with a copy of your CV before Friday 31 May. If you are selected as a suitable candidate you will be required to work with staff at the University of Huddersfield to develop an application for submission to the EU Marie-Curie Programme Fellowships closing on 14 August 2013.

Project descriptions:

Skin Topography - To investigate methods of accurately measuring and characterising friction, shear and pressure at the patient bed interface to gain a better understanding of how pressure ulcers develop in different patients

Precision engineering – Planning Tool Development

Surface Metrologist - Investigation of non-diffracting beams for surface metrology applications in order to extend the depth of field for high speed embedded surface/dimensional metrology

Modelling - Measurement uncertainty modelling for situations with sparse spatial and temporal sampling

Precision Engineering - Methodology for the efficient creation of FE based heat flow models of manufacturing machines

Laser-based technologist for 3D position measurement of machine tools and/or robots

Precision engineering – development of algorithm for milling processes

Robotics - Automated measurement of manufacturing systems using robots
