saxophone day IN Staff and students are invited to join the Saxophones take over on Thursday 9 March. The event runs from 10.00am to 7.30pm and is part of the School of Music, Humanities and Media’s Sound Vision Place Series. 


For the first time there will be practical workshops on offer, led by Quirk Saxophone Quartet and a masterclass by Claude Delangle. Read the full programme here.

1.15pm Recital
Special guest, Claude Delangle, from the Paris Conservatoire, will be performing a recital accompanied by Paul Turner.

6.00pm Performance
In the evening there will be a finale performance, conducted by Sarah Markham, bringing together all those who were involved in the day including the University Saxophone Ensemble, Quirk Sax Quartet and guests in the Saxophone Day Orchestra.

Tickets can be booked online for the lunchtime recital and evening performance or purchased on the door.
