Alumni from the department of Music stepped back on to campus after almost 30 years last weekend for a special reception. The day included tours of the campus, seeing the Creative Arts Building, where Music and Music Technology has resided since 2008, the Researcher Hub, their old home, and St Paul’s Hall. Current staff and students joined the group along with Professor Richard Steinitz, the founder and artistic director of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival for 23 years, and former lecturer at the University. Guests even found themselves in pictures included in his book about the History of the festival. Current Music student Alana McEwan said "it was a great experience!"

Head of the Music and Drama Department Professor Rachel Cowgill said “everyone really enjoyed themselves;, the atmosphere was great, and the students got a lot out of talking to our guests, all of whom graduated in or around 1988. As one of them said to me, 'we had a ball'”.
