Bisexual Studies – Mapping the way forward

What is bisexual studies? Why are lesbian, gay, queer and transgender studies so much more developed? How can other areas of scholarship, such as citizenship studies and intersectionality theory, help to inform our understanding of bisexuality?

Professor Monro addressed these and other issues in a keynote speech to the vibrant European Bisexual Research Conference at the University of Amsterdam in July 2016. This keynote speech drew on the material in her recent book Bisexuality: Identities, Politics and Theories and a paper that is undergoing preparation on the ways that bisexuality has been overlooked by sexualities social sciences.
