FEGReG is delighted to announce that Zakiyah Sharif has been awarded her PhD, having successfully defended her thesis entitled "Intention Towards Whistle-Blowing Among Internal Auditors in the U.K.".  Using the theory of planned behaviour to frame her study, Zakiyah received nearly 130 scenario-based questionnaires from internal auditors. Multiple regression analysis revealed several positive influences on their intention to blow the whistle, including awareness of whistleblowing legislation.

Dr Zakiyah Sharif, who lectures in the School of Accountancy at the Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, was supervised at the University of Huddersfield by Professor Chris Cowton and Dr Julie Drake.  Chris, who is Dean of the Business School, commented: "I am delighted for Zakiyah. She is a very diligent and thoughtful scholar who has produced a very good piece of work. I look forward to working with her to try to get her research published in high quality journals. We will miss her at FEGReG. I particularly appreciated her perceptive questions during our research seminars."
