Heritage Quay

Heritage Quay is the official archive for the University of Huddersfield, acting as the guardian of the archives of other organisations, families and individuals dating back over 200 years. Their 21st-century role is to collect and secure the future of archives, both digital and physical, to preserve them for generations to come, making them as accessible and available as possible.

Many exciting events and exhibitions are being organised for free in January 2016.

Wednesday 20 January

This January come and experience the wildest and most extreme music in Huddersfield. Join staff at the University of Huddersfield’s Heritage Quay to investigate some of the loudest, oddest and weirdest sounds of 20th Century British classical music at their ‘Hardcore Classical’ event. There will be unique and hilarious challenges and strong brews to steady your nerves.

‌‌Saturday 23 January

Discover the world around you and come along to the Heritage Quay Maps Day. On hand will be archaeologists, historians, geographers and more to show that maps are for more than just getting from A to B. There will also be a range of displays and activities throughout the day including the chance to look at the Kirklees Portfolio of Maps, items from Heritage Quay’s collections, as well as demonstations of archaeological mapping machines and have a go at making a map of your own.

All events are free.
