Data protection training

Tue, 12 Jan 2016 02:00:00 GMT

The University has now launched online data protection training for staff in our new online learning portal “LearnUpon”.  The training package gives a general overview of data protection law and compliance, including information security and records management and guidance about how to apply this in day to day work.

The training is compulsory for all staff and will be included in induction training for all new staff joining us.

Over the next couple of weeks staff members will be receiving a personalised email invitation from notifications@learnupon.com to undertake the training.  All staff are expected to have completed the training by Friday 26 February 2016.  Completion rates will be closely monitored and reminders sent as appropriate.

Further information about data protection, including the University’s Data Protection Policy can be found here: Data Protection.  If you have any other questions about data protection, please contact the University’s Data Protection Officer, Rebecca McCall (data.protection@hud.ac.uk).
