The Business School further strengthened its ties with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and became an official partner of the only chartered professional body in the UK dedicated to management and leadership. Helen Watts, HE Relationship Manager for the CMI commented; “In an increasingly competitive higher education market, it’s crucial that universities stand out from the competition and offer something extra to help them recruit more learners, provide more value, and deepen engagement with them.”

The Business School already has strong links with the CMI through the opportunity for students to gain additional professional qualifications alongside their academic awards at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. This dual accreditation strengthens the link between theoretical knowledge and practical application. We also host networking and guest speaker events throughout the year offering the opportunity for students, management professionals and organisations to learn and collaborate.

Our partnership with the CMI offers management students support for life-long learning, during and after their studies, and supports them on the pathway to becoming a ‘Chartered Manager’, a coveted status that is prized by employers.

Helen also took the opportunity to award prizes to a team of four Business Management BA(Hons) students for ‘Best Poster’ in the ‘21st Century Leader’ competition through which students present their ideas on the skills and attributes needed to be a successful business leader.
