The IGNITE Stage is a special venue where WCDRR participants are allowed to present a disaster risk reduction topic, project or initiative. Its aim is to widen the array of topics that are discussed at the World Conference. Applications were  judged by a jury based on their originality and relevance to current and future global DRR efforts.

ANDROID (Academic Network for Disaster Resilience to Optimise educatIonal Development) led by Professor Richard Haigh is an EU funded international partnership of higher education institutes and key actors in disaster resilience that has been formed to help develop innovative European education that tackles disaster risk. This presentation included an outline of the ANDROID network’s mission, its achievements to date, including a European roadmap for disaster resilience education, and its plans for the future.
