The Collaborative Venture Fund is designed to seed fund an academic to work with an external organisation (e.g. company, government, NHS, charity etc.) as a catalyst to developing a long term relationship or capability (e.g. knowledge transfer/knowledge exchange, contract or collaborative research).   The organisation can be any size, anywhere and in any sector; however there must be the real prospect of developing a longer term relationship with knowledge transfer/knowledge exchange based income which contributes to the Research, Enterprise and Innovation targets as defined in the University strategy map.

‌The criteria has recently changed, so even if you were not eligible to apply in previous years, please take a look as you may now be eligible.

Key facts:

  • Value - up to £2,500

  • A seed fund to develop an external knowledge transfer/knowledge exchange based relationship

  • It is expected to lead to an ongoing income generating relationship

  • Does not support academic to academic relationship development
