New Pre & Post Award system

Collaborative research We are pleased to announce the details of a new project to design and implement a new Pre & Post Award system to manage research and enterprise bids and proposals.

What's new?

The new system will allow research and enterprise bids and proposals to be developed, costed and submitted in one place, by academics and finance administrators with the ongoing support from the Pre & Post Award team. 

The system will streamline the current process making it easier for academic staff and research staff within the schools to monitor the progress of a research or enterprise proposal in terms of development, costing and pricing and the life of the project once it has started.  

Reporting will be linked to the funding body life cycle rather than the university’s financial year and running reports on outputs will be made easier.

The system aims to automate a large portion of the current process ensuring that tight deadlines are met, all Deans, Directors, Academics and staff involved are kept in the loop every step of the way and cross-school activity is improved.  The full life of a project can be monitored and evaluated by all staff involved.

The Project Team

We have a project team that is responsible for the design and implementation of the system.  Each school is represented by a member of the project team to ensure that we cater for all the needs and processes for each school.  The project team is made up of members from Computing and Engineering, Human and Health Sciences, Art, Design and Architecture, Applied Sciences, Pre and Post Award, Finance and Research and Enterprise CRM team.

The project team meets on a fortnightly basis and we meet with a wider Stakeholder group on a monthly basis where Academics, Deans and Directors of Research are invited along to contribute to the development of the new system.
